A panic attack knows no gender, age and race.  These panic attacks can have students, employees, employers, house wives, and the like. This also goes to say that even famous people are not exempted from panic attacks. Yes, you‘ve read it right. Famous people panic and just like any other people; they also had difficulties in dealing with their condition. Their fame and fortune are not guarantees for a panic-free life. Examples of celebrities who are suffering from panic attacks are Nicole Kidman, Kim Bassinger, Nicolas Cage, Naomi Campbell, Courtney Love and Alanis Morisette. But, this fact should not cause you to panic.  There are many available treatments for panic attack sufferers. Read further to know more about the different kinds of treatments for panic attack sufferers:

  1. Prescription Medication – although this kind of treatment is the most common, this is certainly not the best.  These prescription medications are only good at hiding the symptoms.  But, they are never good at providing complete relief from the suffering individual.  When the effects of these drugs wear off, the symptoms will be back again and by that time the symptoms are even worse than they first time they occur.  As a result the individual will need a higher dose of the medicine.  This vicious cycle will just keep going on and on until the person develops drug dependency.  These prescription drugs must only be used sparingly.
  2. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- this kind of therapy is primarily based on the belief that a person’s feelings and behaviors are influenced by his own thoughts.  This goes to say that the person’s feelings and behaviors can be altered once he knows how to change his own pattern of thinking. If the situation at hand can’t be altered, cognitive-behavioral therapy will help the person how to act or react better.
  3. Natural Treatments – the natural treatment for panic attacks include several alternative ways to cure panic attacks. This includes changing one’s lifestyle.  The shift to a healthy lifestyle would mean eating the right kind of food, having regular exercise and enough rest.  A healthy lifestyle also means having a daily diet devoid of foods with too much sugar in it. Your daily habit must also be devoid of too much caffeine by avoiding coffee. Eliminating vices such as cigarette smoking and avoiding alcoholic beverages are also necessary for a healthier lifestyle.  As a matter of fact, a healthy lifestyle is the best way to treat and prevent the occurrence of panic attacks.  Once you stick to a healthy lifestyle, you’ll have higher chances of having a healthy mind and body, for life.
